ELIMEDICS 2016

Laser plasma accelerators have made tremendous progresses delivering high quality and high current beams of energetic particles. Their interests for medicine, biology, chemistry and material science have been pointed out by a large scientific community and have motivated unique large scale initiatives such the ELI’s projects.

In the Czech Republic, the ELI Beamlines facility aims to offer to scientists the most efficient and the most competitive beamlines/user-stations to realize their dreams. To give the best chances of success we decided to organize a series of workshops to the relevant topics of interest. The aims of the ELIMEDICS workshop are to explore, to discuss, to schedule and to optimize the design for the experimental setups to be offered to the users. Because of the interdisciplinary nature of the fields and of the facility we wish to trigger fruitful discussions between experts in the field of high power laser-matter interaction and potential users, as well as young scientists, to motivate them to suggest new ideas and corresponding requirements.

The workshop will be held in the conference room of the new ELI Beamlines building, in the vicinity of the wonderful city of Prague.
