On Saturday, 14 May 2022, ELI Beamlines opened its doors to the general public to celebrate the International Day of Light. The day falls annually on 16 May and reminds us of the first-ever laser shot, demonstrated by the American physicist and engineer Theodore Maiman in 1960. About 600 visitors came to celebrate the important role of light.
A rich, light-inspired program was prepared, in which both young and adult science enthusiasts found something to enjoy. See the photo gallery below.
