Preparation and construction of the world’s most intense laser and all other related costs will require a total of 7 447 381 042 Czech crowns. 85% of these so-called eligible expenses are co-financed by the EU and 15% of the Czech Republic state budget.

Funding is administered by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports through the Operational Program Research and Development for Innovation and Operational program Research, Development and Education; Institute of Physics, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic is the recipient. Further 70 million crowns from the Operational Program Education for Competitiveness won Institute of Physics in order to support scientific authorities considering implementation of projects ELI Beamlines and HiLASE.
