ELI Beamlines welcomed European Commissioner Piotr Serafin together with Jindřich Fryč, Director General for International Cooperation and Education Support at the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.
During the visit, the guests were introduced to the history of the centre, its mission within the international research infrastructure ELI ERIC, and its current scientific activities.
The programme also included a tour of the L2 laser system and the E1 and E3 experimental halls focused on plasma physics research and X-ray sources. The tours were guided by Tyler Green, the group leader of the laser system L2 DUHA, and Jaroslav Nejdl, the Head of Department of X-ray Sources and Applications. The visit confirmed the importance of ELI Beamlines as a leading European facility in laser research and its role in advancing scientific excellence and international collaboration.
