ELI and European XFEL signed the Memorandum of Understanding

The collaboration includes exchange of personnel, performing joint research and workshops, fostering interdisciplinary research between the two facilities and to cooperate in ELIBIO project, investigate possibilities for common funding proposals, exchange knowledge on operating high-power and high-repetition rate lasers as user facilities, joint development of high repetition rate targetry, explore possibilities of having instrumentation compatibilities, exchange information on user access and beam-time allocation procedures, collaboration in the development of web-based user tools, including 3D visualisation tools for virtual tours of the facilities and beam lines, set up joint courses in postgraduate studies, look into the possibilities to have common PR events for promoting photon based science to the general public, exploit synergies within European programmes, any other form which the Parties might consider appropriate.
