The goal of the workshop was to discuss the recent results of hard-X-ray sources (Betatron and inverse Compton sources), which are based on relativistic electrons accelerated in laser plasma, and their applications in the various fields of natural and medical sciences and industrial applications. The workshop provided an overview of state of the art preparing the ground for future collaboration of the community on science associated with the Gammatron beamline at ELI.
There were 10 talks given by distinguished scientists from the leading institutes highlighting the scientific results on LWFA-driven sources and their applications in various fields like microtomography of plants for food safety, phase contrast imaging in biology and medicine, time-resolved X-ray absorption, High energy density science, nuclear science, and several industrial applications. The workshop concluded with a roundtable discussion on how the Gammatron beamline can make unique contributions to ultrafast Imaging, X-ray spectroscopy, and HED physics in the near future.
