The 2016 winner of the “Wolfgang Sandner” Scientific Excellence Prize for Young Researchers is Dr. Henri P. Vincenti

The 2016 winner of the “Wolfgang Sandner” Scientific Excellence Prize for Young Researchers is Dr. Henri P. Vincenti  – Congratulations!

We are grateful to all those who nominated exceptional young scientists, and we congratulate all the nominees. Selecting just one winner was a very difficult task for the Award Committee.

This year’s winner of the “Wolfgang Sandner” Prize, Dr. Henri P. Vincenti is working at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), Berkeley, USA. He made groundbreaking contributions to ultrahigh intensity laser-plasma interaction science, as to the theoretical prediction of the attosecond lighthouse effect during his Ph.D. at CEA-LIDYL  (Saclay, France) and now to the development of massively parallel solvers, essential for future exascale Particle-In-Cell simulations.

Dr. Henri P. Vincenti will receive the award, consisting in a trophy and a cash prize, in Dolni Břežany, Czech Republic, with the occasion of the dedicated Award Ceremony during the the ELI Summer School (ELISS 2016). ELI also provides the winner with the full coverage of his attendance at the ELISS 2016 School, and offers him the opportunity to present his research results at the event.

Stay tuned to find out more about the Award Ceremony, which will take place on August 26, 2016 at ELI Beamlines Dolni Břežany, the Czech Republic!

The award is sponsored by the ELI Delivery Consortium (ELI-DC) International Association.
