ELI getting real

From Inception to Implementation

December 10 will represent an important milestone for a pan-European research infrastructure project, Extreme Light Infrastructure, or ELI. In a dedicated event hosted by the Czech Embassy in Paris, the ELI Delivery Consortium will officially take the lead of the Project from the ELI Preparatory Phase and announce the launch of ELI’s implementation phase.

In an afternoon seminar, key players of the ELI Preparatory Phase will highlight the major achievements accomplished over the past three years by the ELI- Preparatory Phase Consortium. The three plenipotentiaries representing the three ELI pillars (Czech Republic, Romania and Hungary) will then present the missions, work plan and organisational structure of the ELI Delivery Consortium.

Toshiki Tajima, Chairman of the ELI Scientific Advisory Committee, will conclude the seminar by giving a lecture with the title “Extreme-Light-Infrastructure: Icebreaker and Integrator of 21st Century Science”.

An evening reception held in the salons of the Embassy will be a festive complement to the afternoon conference and an occasion to wish good luck to the ELI project.
