On the 16th of May 1960, Theodore Maiman ran the first laser system in the World thus the laser will celebrate its 60th anniversary this year.
We wanted to celebrate with you at ELI, but this event was postponed due to the current hygienic and epidemiologic situation pertaining to the occurrence of the new type of coronavirus and due to active medical prevention. The new date will be announced on ELI website when it is confirmed.
Let’s remind the laser anniversary, and the International Day of Light as well in this virtually way at least. We prepared for you some videos presenting not only the history of the laser. They are available HERE.
